I asked James Wisniewski tonight about the struggle to find motivation during what’s become a lost season for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He answered that it was no struggle at all.
“We’re men. We have a lot of pride. Call it that if anything. We don’t want to be embarrassed. I don’t want to go home in the summertime and [be asked] ‘Who do you play for?’ and say “the Columbus Blue Jackets” and get laughed at. That’s not something I signed up for.”
To be clear, Wiz was not saying that the Blue Jackets are chuckle worthy. He was saying they would become a punchline if they simply gave up at this point, and he doesn’t see that happening.
