The Blue Jackets have an agreement in place with the Springfield Falcons that ensures the club they will remain the CBJ’s American Hockey League affiliate through 2014-15.
Indeed, MassLive.com has a report today on part of the reason that Columbus chose to stick with the Falcons. (In summary, they now have one less tenant sharing their building, and so Springfield can book more practice ice time and better home dates.)
However, that report also includes this interesting nugget about the parent club:
“[The Jackets made] overtures to relocate their American Hockey League team to Ohio.”
