What’s The Difference?

What has Ohio State done in their 17 wins that they haven’t done in their five losses? Here are the numbers:

Field Goal Percentage-

  • Wins: 46.8%
  • Losses: 39.9%

Three-Point Field Goal Percentage-

  • Wins: 35.9%
  • Losses: 30.4%

Free-Throw Percentage-

  • Wins: 68.9%
  • Losses: 69.8%

Rebounds/Game-

  • Wins: 36.2
  • Losses: 31.2

Turnovers/Game-

  • Wins: 10.3
  • Losses: 14.4

Steals/Game-

  • Wins: 7.3
  • Losses: 8.6

Blocks/Game-

  • Wins: 4.7
  • Losses: 3.0

Opponents’ Field Goal Percentage:

  • Wins: 37.3%
  • Losses: 48.3%

Note: Two of the Buckeye losses came in overtime, which somewhat skews rebounds, blocks, turnovers and steals in a game. Still the biggest takeaway from this seems to be that OSU is allowing opponents higher percentage shots when they lose than when they win.
