Starting Something?

Dispatch reporter Shawn Mitchell notes that Blue Jackets forwards Brandon Dubinsky and Blake Comeau fought today at practice.

In addition to pointing out that nobody was hurt, and coach Todd Richards had no issue with the tussle, Mitchell also drew attention to the fact that practice scrums are not unheard of.

“[Dubinsky] fought New York Rangers teammate [Brian] Boyle during a practice in 2009,” says Mitchell.

Not only is this true (and you can actually see video of it here), but there’s something interesting about that donnybrook that Blue Jackets fans might take heart from:

The Rangers went on to garner points in nine of their next ten games.

And with the Penguins coming to town tomorrow, the CBJ could use any extra edge they can get.

If you’re interested in putting money on the board for that contest with the Pens, Arch City Army is taking pledges for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

All you have to do to have a donation counted in the total is to send a tweet indicating how much you want to give with the hashtag #MoneyOnTheBoard.
