As I’m preparing to go on-air today, it strikes me how many good stories are out there today that just don’t rise to the level of being headline-makers. Here is some of the news that’s flying under the radar this morning:
Although he may not be considered the leading candidate, the Lowell Sun reports that former Buckeye basketball coach Jim O’Brien is rumored to be in the mix for the head coaching job at UMass Lowell. O’Brien is currently head man at Emerson College.
Some oddsmakers are giving Ohio State football an 88.9 percent chance of winning the Leaders Division next year.
If you want to tour the home of Buckeye coach Urban Meyer, you’ll soon have a chance.
Rutgers athletics could really use that extra money that’s going to come from joining the Big Ten. Last year they ran a deficit of $28 million.
Athlon has an interesting article on who will be kept out of the College Football Hall of Fame by the shrine’s rules regarding who is eligible. They include one former Big Ten coach on the list. Then again, they also list former USC coach Pete Carroll.
Speaking of the College Football Hall of Fame, keep a box of tissues handy, and read this piece on why his induction means relatively little for former Colorado coach Bill McCartney.
