Dancing His Way to the NBA?

Freshman Mitch McGary has helped key Michigan’s run to the NCAA’s championship game tonight against Louisville. Along the way, he has impressed scouts enough that some have him projected as a first-round NBA draft pick…should he decide to turn pro, of course.

However, this was never a given, especially given the forward’s performance earlier in the season.

Check out the numbers.

Here are Mitch McGary’s stats through the Big Ten Tournament:

6.2 points per game on .570 shooting
5.5 rebounds per game
.5 assists per game
.909 steals per game
.636 blocks per game
1.09 turnovers per game

Here are McGary’s stats in the NCAA Tournament:

16 points per game on .698 shooting
11.6 rebounds per game
1.6 assists per game
2.2 steals per game
1.2 blocks per game
1.6 turnovers per game
