OHSAA Competitive Balance Proposal

The Ohio High School Athletic Association had proposed that they hold separate tournaments for public and private schools, but they have now withdrawn that proposal from the May ballot.

Instead they are proposing a more elegant solution to addressing their competitive balance issues, one that takes into account how many student-athletes a school has on their roster from outside their district.

This will help address the fact that some high schools are better able to “recruit,” and others are much more beholden to accepting athletes from a certain geographical area.
