This April, I am being given complete control over a handful of former Buckeyes.
I feel like that sentence should be read while you’re listening to Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor, maybe with a lightning strike or two for emphasis.
So let’s try this again.
I am being given complete control over a handful of former Buckeyes!
Ok, sorry. I let the power go to my head for a moment.
A more level-headed explanation?
I’ll be riding the officiating coat tails* of Chris Hunt and Gary Russell II on April 19th when ten former Buckeyes take on a group of Marysville community leaders to help defray the costs of pay-to-play athletes in Union County.
For once, Roy Hall, Craig Krenzel, Matt Wilhelm and Andy Katzenmoyer will have to listen to me. And ironically, considering that I’ve interviewed many of these athletes before, all I will accept as a response is “no comment…”
But we all know this isn’t going to happen, right? So to see me get heckled, and–more importantly–to benefit a good cause, check out the details of the Driven Basketball Game for Charity here.
And wish me luck.
*This isn’t false modesty. I’ve never done three-man (ie. varsity level) mechanics before as a basketball official. I will be heavily relying on Hunt and Russell, and even then may still end up calling a technical on myself.
