I Violated NCAA Rules and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt

My friend, Jeff Svoboda, today shared a link to a new Penn State T-shirt which takes to task the NCAA for punishing their football team in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

Pretty funny, right? But it’s not quite as funny as this:

Be sure to accessorize this shirt with the “Struttin’ Joe Paterno” figurine from the Student Book Store in State College. (Only $7.99 plus tax and shipping and handling!)

This much I will concede to the NCAA’s critics, this level of defiance in Happy Valley doesn’t seem to indicate that their discipline has resulted in the desired culture change.

(By the way, Forbes has an interesting look at the Penn State situation from a criminal justice expert, and one of the topics he tackles is why the “innocent” are being made to pay for the inaction of four men. Short version? Those four men were acting on behalf of the entire institution.)

  1. C. Lee Smith says:

That’s still better than the “Showerin’ with Sandusky” bathrobe!😉

  2. PSU says:

That shirts shows the lack of intelligence out there…should be “overstepping ITS bounds.”
oh, and don’t get mad at the NCAA, get mad at your pedophile ex-coaches
